Team building experiences

Every team building experience, made legendary.

From a full-day Crazy Day to a 90-day transformation, a corporate regatta to a give-back bike build — these are the experiences we design, facilitate and run for groups of 5 to 5,000. Mix and match, or let us architect the whole retreat.

The Ultimate Hunt

Part scavenger hunt, part adventure race, part learning lab. Random tool-filled backpacks, points for solving clues — and a twist: to take another team’s tool, you have to recruit the teammate holding it.

Give-back · ~2 hours

Crazy Hour

A compressed, unforgettable hour: pairs investigate your location with a clue ‘passport,’ then meet local children who’ve never seen such a place — giving them a tour, sharing a meal, and a perspective shift no one forgets.

Orienteering

‘The thinking sport.’ Teams navigate to checkpoints with map and compass — a stroll, hike or race tuned to your group — with team challenges along the way and a facilitated debrief amid great scenery.

Virtual & hybrid

Virtual team building that still moves people

We’ve designed emotionally charged virtual experiences since long before it was the only option. They’re 100% turn-key — we ship materials to participants, facilitate every breakout room, and tie it all to a real outcome. Distance doesn’t dull the moment.

Lenovo · Virtual Building A Dream

Lionel had no idea

A fully virtual bike build where Lenovo’s team built and gave a bike to Lionel — who didn’t know it was coming. The same lump-in-the-throat moment, delivered over video.

Lenovo · Virtual Building A Dream

And so did Jocelyn

Lionel’s sister Jocelyn was just as surprised. Two kids, two bikes, one remote team that will never forget the day.

Count Your BlessingsA virtual gratitude experience that resets perspective and connects a distributed team to what matters.
Get On BoardThe skateboard build, reimagined for video — embracing change, with boards donated to kids.
One World, One TeamA global, cross-time-zone format that turns a scattered workforce into a single team.
Values & community

Sessions that connect heart and mind

Shorter give-back and values sessions that bring a company’s purpose to life — and surprise participants with who they’re really helping.

~1 hour

Puppet Theater

Teams build puppets and stage a short skit around a company value for visiting ‘community leaders’ — who turn out to be local children. The puppets and stage are donated afterward.

Cheerful Giving

Teams assemble gift bags — not knowing why — then learn they’re for parents at a women’s shelter to give their child on a birthday, each with an anonymous letter of hope from a participant.

1–4 hours

Innovate This!

A keynote-style session that turns the humble penny into a lesson on innovation: small ideas, ignored alone, are transformative in aggregate — ending with a philanthropic reveal.

InnovationKeynote format
Corporate sailing

The boat becomes your organization

No experience needed — real boats, professional crew and facilitators. Every format turns a day on the water into a living metaphor for how your team works together.

4–80 people

Large Yacht Sailing

32–125 ft boats with professional crew and two facilitators. The ship becomes a living metaphor for your organization — everyone an effective cog in the wheel.

Pressure test

Executive Mental Crunches

A simulated ‘man overboard’ recovery drill that reveals how your team really behaves under pressure — then repeats later in the day to measure how much they’ve changed.

Full day

Team Sailing Challenge

A day-long learn-to-sail with constant parallels to your work — culminating in a real local race.

4 or 8 hours

Fun Day at the Races

A corporate regatta — department vs. department, or home vs. visitors — with an onshore debrief and downtime to relax.

Teams of 4–6

Small Boat Regatta

Teams learn, then race small boats — a sharp focus on communication and split-second decisions.

Multi-day

Offshore Adventure

The ultimate version: offshore passages, sunrise at sea, and deep interdependence with master instructors.

Single day · SF Bay

Shackleton Leadership Adventure

Built on Shackleton’s Endurance story and five leadership traits: optimism, communication, flexibility, leading by example, and wellbeing.

Facilitated sessions

The framework that makes it stick

Woven around the experiences — never sold as a stack of slides. Our sessions give the day its language and durability, so teams experience what they do, not just what they know.

Speed of Trust

Developing Trust

Built on Covey’s framework — participants work through every level of trust, starting with self-trust. A natural through-line for an entire retreat.

Core values

GroundWorks

Teams identify their core values and build a scalable framework to reinforce them — ‘the way we do things around here’ — as new people arrive.

Business simulation

Innovating Your World

A realistic simulation demanding honest examination of goals and motives, with a philanthropic element that anchors the lesson to the heart.

Self-awareness

Communicating from Personal Strengths

Insight into how individuals behave under low and high stress — and how to choose the response that gets the best result. The basis for trust-building.

Lencioni model

Five Dysfunctions of a Team

Pat Lencioni’s model — with trust at the base of the pyramid — as a shared language for the whole retreat, guided by a Lencioni-lineage facilitator.

Hundreds on hand

Experiential Activities & Team Bonding

Short, ~20-minute activities our facilitators weave in to punctuate content and re-energize the room — chosen live for whatever the group needs.

The capstone

When a day isn’t enough

XTREME Executive Experience

The 90-Day Challenge

A 90-day personal-transformation program: participants commit to a triathlon and an ‘extreme’ challenge to Abandon Your Shell — built on the paradigm shift that knowledge means nothing without committed action. Works as a retreat launch or capstone.

BodyMindHeartSpiritCommitment
01Set a Legendary Intent and commit publicly to the 90-day arc.
02Train toward a triathlon — the body as proof that change is real.
03Take on an extreme challenge that breaks the old self-image.
04Return transformed — knowledge converted into committed action.
Every program is tailored to your group, goals and venue, so pricing is quoted per event — including the donated goods. Book a call and we’ll design and price the right one.
Questions, answered

Team building experience FAQs

What types of team building experiences do you offer? +

Everything from a full-day Crazy Day or an adventure-race Ultimate Hunt to give-back bike, skateboard and shoe builds, corporate sailing, facilitated sessions and large conference events — for groups of 5 to 5,000, in person or virtual.

Do you run virtual or hybrid team building? +

Yes. We’ve designed emotionally charged virtual experiences since 2003 — pre-planned formats like Count Your Blessings and Get On Board, plus fully custom builds. They’re 100% turn-key: we ship any materials to participants and facilitate every breakout room.

Are these just feel-good events? +

No. Every experience connects heart and mind to a real business outcome — customer service, quality, leadership, trust or change — and we follow up on behavior for 30 days to measure how well it sticks. People leave having genuinely learned something, not just enjoyed a day.

How large a group can you handle? +

From an executive team of 5 to a general session of 5,000. Our activities are built to scale, so everyone takes part at once — no one sits on the sidelines.

How far in advance should we book? +

Four to twelve weeks is ideal so we can tailor the experience, coordinate charity partners and ship materials. We’ve also turned events around much faster — just ask.
