Put your team in the same boat — literally.
Learning to crew a sailboat forces your people to communicate, divide roles and trust each other fast — then race what they've learned. It's team building your team can feel the moment the wind fills the sail.
A boat is your workplace in miniature: constant change and unknowns get thrown at a crew that has to adapt together, in real time. Titles fall away, roles get clear, and people discover exactly why — back at the office — some things run smoothly and others don't.
Choose your format
Every event is built around your goals, group size and port. A few of the ways teams sail with us:
Large-Yacht Session
Crews of up to 80 across yachts from 32 to 125 feet, each with pro crew and facilitators aboard. The perfect metaphor for an organization — everyone a vital part of the whole, no one doing everything alone.
Team Sailing Challenge
Learn the skills and drills, connect them to how your team really works — then the twist: you finish in a real local race, with the facilitator stepping back to watch you sail it yourselves.
Corporate Regatta
Teams crew their own boats and race — department vs. department, home team vs. visitors. Onshore groups debrief and practice what they learned. An indelible memory of cooperation and friendly competition.
Offshore Adventure
The ultimate challenge: open-sea passages that pull leaders out of their comfort zone. With Yachtmaster instructors and a capable ocean yacht, the sea makes interdependence and communication non-negotiable.
Under-Pressure Reset
A simulated “man overboard” recovery drill reveals how your team really reacts under pressure — then repeats later in the day so everyone can see, and measure, how much they’ve changed.
Shackleton Leadership Adventure
Built on Shackleton’s Endurance story and five leadership traits: optimism, communication, flexibility, leading by example, and wellbeing.
What your team takes back to work
Through a discovery process with you, we tailor land- and water-based modules to shift the behaviors that affect performance. Each participant leaves with an action plan tied to specific goals — so the cooperation you find on the water shows up in the building on Monday.
What it costs
Sailing events flex on outcomes, format, port (San Francisco? the BVI? the San Juans? Chesapeake?), group size and date — too many variables for a price sheet. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll scope it with you. Book a call.
Frequently asked questions
Does anyone need to know how to sail? +
No — our biggest breakthroughs happen with people brand new to sailing. Certified instructors teach your crew everything they need on the water.
What if someone can't swim? +
No problem. Everyone wears a personal flotation device the whole time, and safety staff are aboard throughout.
Where can we do it? +
Almost any port in the world — San Francisco Bay, the British Virgin Islands, the San Juans, Chesapeake Bay and beyond.
What if it rains? +
Like the business environment, adversity can show up unannounced — we build a contingency plan into every event, though it rarely comes to that.
Ready to get your team on the water?
Tell us your group size, port and goals. We’ll design a sailing experience your people will still be talking about long after they're back on dry land.
