Strategic Intervention Time

Uh-oh.

An obvious problem exists with obvious symptoms.

Typically there has been some kind of crisis or event that has led you to this page. Some situations are: breakdown

  • Physical Altercation
  • Verbal Arguments that dispupt the office
  • Recent Layoffs
  • Sexual Harassment
  • Discrimination Investigations

Even if the persons directly involved have ben removed, there can be significat damage to the group. If left alone, scarring memories will endure that will impede future trusting in the group.

Occasionally, the persons directly invovled remain. This is often true in goverment workplaces where employees stay through much more adversity than in corporate environments.

What to do?

Examing Point A will be critical to determine the very first step to take. This first step can be the difference between success and failure of getting the group back to working together

In almost every case, some kind of assessment will be important - survey, focus group, interviews, or a combination of all kinds of assessments.

Steps must be taken very carefully or the process will not succeed.

Once Point A is more clearly defined, a solution will be produced.

Legendary Coaching

Many organizations will put an entire group through a seminar on a particular topic (anger management, individual accountability, sexual harassment, etc) instead of addressing the issue at hand.

A very common approach is to provide individual coaching for the supervisor, manager or executive. This provides a solution as well as training and experience in dealing with difficult situations for the individual.

Contact us to discussion the coaching options.

Point B - Where Do You Want Your Group to Be?teambuilding_planning

After the initial defining of Point A, a solution is created in partnership with you.

In almost every case when facing a complete breakdown, the Frame Workshop is required as it is individual based.

Additionally, indiviudal coaching is typically used to have a greater impact upon the indivudals most directly impacted by the breakdown.

The solution is designed in a Milestone format with continual check-in opportunties to ensure we are being effective in our efforts.

Each Milestone has objectives, deliverables from Be Legendary and 'Stop / Continue' opportunities. This allows you to stay in control during the entire process as well as in control of your budget. If circumstances change in your organization, we can adjust at any point.

This Milestone system allows for maximum flexibility in our partnership.

Success - What does it look like?

Defining success is critical here. Initial success may simply be the end of open hostility.

After the end of open hostility, we would set a reasonable goal for success. In many cases, getting people working together again and communicating may be the best we can do without significant personnel change.

However, there are cases in which groups have come back together even strong than before because the conflict was directly addressed and overcome. Hence, the group members have experience getting through difficult times.

Corporate environments are tricky and challenging when it comes to 'team building'.

There is a pervasive mentality of 'been there, done that' with images of falling backwards into the group that catches them -- the Trust Fall.

Capturing their attention within minutes and keeping it throughout the program is the goal of every 'team building' event, program or workshop we run.

Additionally, a recent survey found that almost 75% of all corporate employees have an exit strategy.

This has caused us to carefully consider two questions:

  • How do you create a meaningful experience for an audience that is mentally prepared to leave at any time?
  • How do you get them to care enough to change?

Keeping these thoughts in the forefront of our minds, we have created workshops to move even the most cynical of participants.

However, before you begin selecting workshops, think about how you will reinforce the workshop moving forward.

The workshops are designed for group of 25 or less. If you have a larger group, please see our Conferences Services.
